Ice-cream or Frozen desert. Are we being cheated ?

CURRENT SCENARIO

We, the people of INDIA are very less aware about the Dairy Sector. For us it is only confined to the milkman who gives us milk and the seller who supplies us dahi, ghee, butter,ice-cream.
And just because of our this little knowledge, the one who have more are able to cheat on us by providing a low quality product at such a high price of the product with superior quality.
When talking about Ice-cream, the first thing that comes to our mind is one of the delicious, mouth cooling, taste enhancer or the party ending dish which is being preferred in summers. Now-a-days many manufacturers compromise with the raw materials and gives us a low quality product at the price of the Ice- cream and the sufferer is the consumer.
When you see the picture on the carton, you would think it is any ordinary ice cream. Only when you turn it around to look for a title, you see a much smaller font there, and it says - Frozen Dessert.

The LAW says :-

According to the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India,
  • Ice cream, kulfi or softy ice cream means that the product is obtained by freezing a pasteurized mix, prepared from milk and /or other products derived from milk with or without the addition of nutritive sweetening agents, fruit and fruit products, eggs, etc.
  • Frozen dessert means the product obtained by freezing a pasteurized mix prepared with milk fat and/or edible vegitable oils and fat having a melting point of not more than 37.0 degree C in combination and milk protein alone or in combination/or vegetable protein products singly or in combination with the addition of nutritive sweetening agents.
So from now being an educated consumer we would be buying by differentiating the product and looking into the Ingredients of the product and preventing us from being cheated on the name of Ice-cream.

Vitamins in MILK

Vitamins are organic substances which occur in very small concentrations in both plants and animals. They are essential to normal life processes. The chemical composition of vitamins is usually very complex, but that of most vitamins is now known. The various vitamins are designated by capital let- ters, sometimes followed by numerical subscripts, e.g. A, B1 and B2.  Milk contains many vitamins.  Among the best known are A, B1, B2, C and D. Vitamins A and D are soluble in fat, or fat solvents, while the others are soluble in water. Lack of vitamins can result in defi- ciency diseases
